SAP - ABAP Developer

Role purpose: Build the SAP-side interface that receives auction-closure data (via CPI) and posts it into SAP as a business transaction (PO/Contract/Sales Order or custom Z-table).

Core Technical Skills

• ABAP development – strong hands-on in custom Function Modules, BAPI wrappers, and/or extending standard BAPIs
• RFC/BAPI/IDoc – experience building or consuming RFC-enabled function modules, working with BAPIs for transaction creation (PO/SO/Contract), and IDoc processing (inbound/outbound)
• SAP MM/SD modules – working knowledge of Purchase Order, Contract, and Sales Order creation processes, since the interface will post into one of these
• Integration experience – prior exposure to SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) or PI/PO, since this ABAP layer sits downstream of a CPI iFlow and needs to talk to it cleanly (payload structures, acknowledgements, error codes)
• Master data handling – experience with material master, vendor/customer master, plant/company code cross-referencing and mapping tables
• Error handling & logging – ability to build robust interfaces with proper exception handling, duplicate-posting prevention, and retry-safe logic (important given the proposal explicitly calls out negative scenarios like duplicate postings and master data mismatches)
• Debugging & testing – comfortable with SAP debugger, test transactions (e.g., BAPI testing via SE37/BAPI transaction), and supporting UAT cycles

Good to Have

• Experience with SAP CPI iFlow development
• Exposure to industrial/manufacturing SAP landscapes
• Familiarity with IDoc monitoring (WE02/WE05) and BAPI return structure handling (BAPIRET2)
• Basic understanding of authentication/security for inbound interfaces
• Experience 3-5 years
