Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Maintain day-to-day books of accounts in Tally ERP/Tally Prime or other accounting software.
• Record and verify all financial transactions, including receipts, payments, journal entries, and bank transactions.
• Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, invoices, and maintain proper financial documentation.
• Process vendor payments, staff reimbursements, advances, and settlements.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, cash reconciliations, and ledger reconciliations.
• Assist in payroll processing and ensure timely salary disbursement.
• Ensure timely compliance with statutory requirements, including TDS, PF, ESI, GST (where applicable), Income Tax, and other regulatory obligations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and project-wise financial reports for management and donors.
• Assist in budget preparation, monitoring expenditure against budgets, and reporting variances.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, petty cash records, and other financial registers.
• Support internal, statutory, donor, and FCRA audits by providing required financial records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies, donor guidelines, and applicable laws.
• Coordinate with banks, auditors, vendors, and project teams on finance-related matters.
• Perform any other finance and administrative responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) is essential; M.Com, MBA (Finance), CA Inter, or equivalent qualifications will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the NGO/development sector.
• Proficiency in Tally ERP/Tally Prime and MS Excel.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance, financial reporting, and donor-funded project accounting is desirable.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
