Trainee Test Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Create test scenarios and test cases based on BRD/FSD documentation.
• Create the Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) for designed test cases.
• Independently drive test pack walkthroughs with various stakeholders.
• Select applicable regression test cases.
• Identify test cases suitable for automation based on automation selection criteria.
• Create and update test data for automation test cases.
• Identify dynamic test data inputs using formulas, database queries, and calculators.
• Perform SIT and UAT test execution.
• Report defects and follow up with Developers and Business Analysts (IT) for defect resolution while tracking defect ageing as per SLA.
• Provide test result walkthroughs to stakeholders for sign-off.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Functional Testing and SDLC/STLC concepts.
• Exposure to automation testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
• Understanding of API Testing, Database Testing, and bug tracking tools.
• Exposure to domains such as Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, Telecom, and Retail.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn development-related activities such as plugin/extension development and tool-specific development activities.
