Digital Advertising & Performance Marketing Internship
Role Overview & Specifications
About the Role:
As a Digital Advertising & Performance Marketing Intern, you will support the planning, execution, monitoring, and optimization of digital advertising campaigns.
This is not a “boost posts” role. You will learn how to move from business objective to audience, campaign, creative, landing page, lead, analytics, and optimization.
You will initially work under senior supervision and progressively take responsibility for campaigns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Google Search, Display, and YouTube campaigns where applicable.
- Conduct keyword research and search intent analysis.
- Support ad copy creation, audience research, campaign structure, and budget planning.
- Assist with bid and optimization analysis.
- Review search-term data and support negative keyword research.
- Work with Facebook Ads and Instagram Ads.
- Support lead-generation, traffic, awareness, and retargeting campaigns.
- Conduct audience research and assist with creative testing.
- Support copy testing and campaign performance analysis.
- Learn how to build campaigns for businesses, decision-makers, founders, operations teams, technology buyers, marketing teams, and industry-specific audiences.
- Understand the difference between traffic, engagement, leads, qualified leads, opportunities, and customers.
- Help define campaign objectives, target audience, ICP, geographic targeting, offer, messaging, creative, landing page, budget, KPIs, and tracking requirements before launch.
- Work with the content and creative team to develop ad headlines, primary text, CTAs, static creatives, carousels, short videos, lead-generation creatives, and landing-page messaging.
- Understand that good advertising is not just good design; it is the combination of audience, message, offer, and execution.
- Learn and work with Google Analytics, Google Ads reporting, Meta Ads Manager, UTM parameters, conversion tracking, lead tracking, campaign attribution, and website traffic analysis.
- Monitor impressions, reach, clicks, CTR, CPC, CPM, leads, conversion rate, CPL, CPA, and ROAS where applicable.
- Regularly review campaign performance and identify poor-performing ads, strong-performing ads, high-cost audiences, low-quality leads, poor keywords, weak landing pages, creative fatigue, and conversion issues.
- Recommend changes based on data rather than assumptions.
- Prepare daily campaign checks, weekly performance reports, monthly campaign summaries, and campaign comparison reports.
- Analyze what happened, why it happened, and what should change next.
- Work with senior professionals to understand performance marketing, GTM strategy, customer acquisition, B2B sales funnels, ICP, buyer journey, marketing attribution, campaign economics, business positioning, and lead qualification.
